When a Husband Buys Fifty Shades

This book is hilarious and I read it in days.
A husband tries to revive his sex life with his wife ...
I couldn't stop laughing and it's a book I'll re-read!
Go on, download it from Amazon. I dare you ...

When accountant Ben Weaver awakens after an erotic dream, he encounters a wife who is unwilling, uninterested, and who once again has a headache. The unworldly but focused Ben decides he will do anything to rekindle his sex life, including imitating the erotic techniques of billionaire Christian Grey from the Fifty Shades series. Unable to withstand the pent-up ache radiating from his tender blue testicles, Ben decides to take Grey's methods to a whole new level in order to relieve the pressure on his . . . er, marriage.
Shocked by her husband's unusual plan, Kate Weaver hesitates in giving him what he desires. But for all his trappings of non-success--his ordinary accounting job where coworkers steal his sandwiches and brag about their sex lives, his lack of wealth, his inability to seduce his own wife--Ben is a man with one saving talent: the driving determination to reignite his sex life no matter what it takes. When the couple embarks on a daring and dangerous physical adventure, Kate discovers her husband's fanatical zeal to explore all of Christian Grey's darkest desires, with calamitous results.
Erotic, hilarious, and highly disturbing, Fifty Shades of Fifty Shades of Grey is a spin-off that will titillate you, amuse you, and stay with you until the next erotic romance crosses your Kindle.

I Did What I Should Not have ...

Lots of top authors have had work rejected.

Accent Press contacted me and asked for 3 chapters but was rejected.  Numerous re-writes since then.

I saved money and sent to Hilary Johnson for a review.  It cost about £400. The review didn't fill me with confidence which is fair enough but at least it was mentioned I could write!

I lost my confidence and stopped writing 18months ago.

Recently I had two reviews on Harper Collins site and will say the majority of past reviews have been wonderful and the the comments encouraging... especially a '"roll over Bill Bryson"!!! These last two prompted me to start again.  So what the hell!!

Anyway, Sunday I opened up Kangaroo Land file for the first time in 18 months and to hell with it, will try again!

Have you been rejected?

Hooray, Hooray, It's a Holiday!

OK, only one day's holiday  but means a 4-day week!   The next assignment for Writer's Bureau is complete apart from a re-read (again).  I'm allowed to give the historical article a miss, thank goodness.  I don't think my idea of an article on rampant Nell Gwyn in a comical vain would go down too well with WB.

Submitted another article to Powderroom Graffiti so fingers crossed my humor will win the editor over for a second time.

Pounded the Wii board this morning ... well, perhaps not pounded given that I am er, a trifle fat according to the Body Test, so let's face it, I coulld have broke the sodding thing.  Oh, am past it at 43 too.   To be honest, haven't been exercising in a week as had another bug. This one a throat infection but rest assurred, I made it into work and everyone, I mean everyone, is elated at the thought that they could be next.

And this afternoon will retire to the sofa to Write a CV on sitcom charactors.  That's after I have brushed the carpet of last night's sewing remanants laying over the floor.  Been warned by the new hubby that I MUST NOT wake him after a night shift so shhhh.  Mind you, am going to cook first. The smell of burnt food should shift him.

BBc Writersroom

I subscribe to the BBC's Writersroom and annually they hold a competition to find a new comedy gold.  Fingers crossed they will have another in 2012.

Why not?  Love comedy, my head if full of funny scenarios (normally when driving), people say I am funny, love writing travel but why not try the direction I really would like to go in ...

Well, best get to work...

Writer's Forum - Published.

The other good news is ....   an issue of Writer's Forum arrived weekend.  I've had another reader's letter printed!  Also means I receive a another moleskin notebook ...
